Raindrops on roses...

I love listening to the sounds of thunder rolling in. Marking the beginning of a summer thunderstorm. The smell of the earth, the plump raindrops splashing around, the wide eyes of my boys when the thunder claps closer, and closer. We had a good time splashing in the puddles. And just as quickly as it came, it continues on.... So we'll paitently wait for the next one.

In the mind of a 6 yr old

So Zack is usually my funny man, but tonight Kolby came up with a good one. Gabe came home from work and sat down next to Kolby. Kolby says, "Dad, you don't smell very good, you need to take a shower." Gabe says, "You want me to give you a beat down?" Kolby says, "Well ok, but afterwords you should really take a shower." Ha!

Just a couple funny things

So I know you all probably get bored with all my "funny sayings" I just wouldn't write them down if I didn't blog them so bear with me. Well, we had a great weekend with our Bentley cousins last weekend. We always do. But for some reason this trip, Kolby & Levi buddied up, instead of the usual (Kolby & Gage, and Zack with Levi) Well Gage came in crying, and crying saying Kolby doesn't want to be my favorite cousin anymore. So we tried to console him and he and Zack paired up, and everything seemed fine. But when we were driving home that evening I heard Zack tell Kolby, "Well if you decide you want to be my friend again, just give me a call some time." Nothing leading up to that, and nothing after, just that. It made me chuckle. And then last night Gabe had gotten some movies. So I told the boys that they had to get their room clean before they could come out and watch it. So I was yelling for them to hurry. And Troy yells after me. Booooooyssss, hurry up an' get yur room cween. I said, Troy you live here too, maybe you should go and help them clean the room, and he looked at me like I was crazy and said, "mom I got a bwoken weg." like I had forgotten. It was so funny. We're almost to the 2 week countdown. I can't believe it's been a month. It seems like a year. Gabe leaned over to me at church today, and said it's going to be really strange to see him walking again. And it really will be. It's been such a crazy thing to have to care for him again like he is a baby. Just don't call him a baby out loud. He will strictly correct you. "NOT I a baby, names Troy!"

amid the chaos

So even with all the craziness, Zack graduated from preschool last week. I'm so proud of him. He is such a fun, silly, creative kid. He loves his teachers and his school friends. I can't believe how big my kids are getting. I love them so much!

holy broken leg batman...

So we're going to call it broken leg tuesday. It was a cool night, and an early morning. You see we have no furnace with the remodel and all, so the kids had slept in the apartment. It was 8:00 in the morning when Kolby came running in Troy broke his leg, Troy broke his leg!!! (of course I was going to take that with grain of salt since every scratched knee is a broken leg at our house.) Well silly me..... Broken it was! And broken bad! We had it x-rayed here in Kanab, but we had to go to St. George to have it set by an orthopedic surgon. So these are the pictures of Troy being very brave, even giving me a smile for the camera, after coming out of anesthesia. Things have not been so happy since then. But he's going to be ok! I'm so relieved. It's so hard to see him like this, and he's not so happy about it either. His favorite thing to say is, "get me outa here!" I wish I could let him! Anyway we are in for a challenging 6 weeks, but I'm so grateful for all of the help! Thanks everyone for your support!
Isn't this bear cute? They gave it to him in the radiology dept. of the Kanab hospital, and he is still hugging it even tonight in bed.
